Description:
The Amon Carter Museum offers interactive distance learning sessions to schools throughout the United States. The lessons are exciting and engaging real-time interactions between schools and the museum's educators using inquiry-based teaching methods focusing on the museum's strong collection of American art. Each lesson corresponds with Texas and national standards. Students are asked to observe, analyze, and verbally express their ideas about images presented. Used in the classroom, program content enhances the curriculum and provides an introduction to the museum experience. Pre- and post-broadcast classroom activities accompany most programs.

Educator Comments:
The Amon Carter has presented several Distance Learning programs for our students. They do an excellent job of gearing the program to the specific age level, they involve the students and keep their attention, and leave the students talking with enthusiaum. They also do an excellent job with the programs at the museum involving students. They provide interesting and free programs for the community.

Amon Carter is the first provider in an art museum that actually moved a mobile system through their galleries. The students get to really experience the museum and feel like they are there in person.

Amon Carter has a mobile system that they take into the gallery and actually show the art on the walls for discussion. The students felt like they were at the museum. These are great experiences for students of all ages.
