Educator Comments:
Kigluait Educational Adventures has been working with us all year. The presenters couldn't be more helpful. These videoconferences are very popular in our school.

Meeting Mushers in Alaska on a lovely winter's day was exciting and enjoyable for our second grade students who had just finished a unit about the Iditarod. Kigluait Adventures does a great job introducing the kids to a real sled dog team and their musher. They get an idea of the real Alaska. It was great fun. Rich and Christine went out of their way to reschedule our program when we experienced connection difficulties on our first try. That is very much appreciated.
Kigluait is willing to customize their programs to meet teachers' requests.

Christina and Rich from Kigluait are wonderful to work with and really understand how to use the technology to enhance the educational objectives. They are AMAZING! They can bring the sled dog experience right into your classroom and completely engage the students with their sense of humor and interactive programming.

Kigluit Adventures provides fascinating learning adventures allowing students to interact with Iditerod racers and learn about the culture of Alaska.

Innovative way of interacting (mushing on a sled live with camera attached, etc.)

One of the best videoconfs ever! Awesome way to deal with mushing! Good view of dogs and riding on a sled!

Kigluait Adventures - How exciting it is for students to ""talk"" live to sled dogs!!!! After students learn commands, they guide the dogs on a trail, telling them which turns to take. Our first graders got a kick out of making all 24 dogs howl as well. This was a great way to learn about the geography, population, and adaptation of animals in Alaska!

Wonderful!! I would do it again! Lots of great information on mushing, where Alaska is compared to our school, climate of Alaska, Iditarod, and more. They were very good at asking for questions from the students at the beginning, middle, and end! We still had lots of questions, but this video conference peeked their interest to seek out those answers to the questions they still had. They came back to the room and picked up the books on the Iditarod in search of these answers!

It seemed helpful that our class had already followed the Iditarod before we had this conference. That allowed us to have a lot of knowledge about the Iditarod and we could relate that to the information we were given and the tour we had of the dogyard, etc. The presenter on the other end kept things moving and had a variety of subjects and activities included. I really enjoyed the time and believe my students did as well.
