Description:
These forty-minute sessions were developed using established National Science Standards as a framework for fun interaction! The programs are also correlated to the Ohio academic content standards. They present science concepts using hands on group explorations between the LEARNnco educator and your classroom. These learning modules complement classroom curriculums, and all sessions are personalized with the format adjusted according to the ages and ability levels of the participating sites.

Great programs and service.

COSI Toledo has been one of our schools primary sources for science learning experiences. They have engaging instructors, experiments and activities thus engaging students in very active learning situations.

COSI Toledo provided a wonderful array of materials to use for the experiments..5 experiments total. This allowed participation from almost each and every student, whether it was volunteering for the experiments or anwsering questions pertaining to the experiments.

In working with Andy Campbell for the past 5 years i cannot tell you how impressed i have been . My teachers and staff have been so impressed on the way Andy Campbell gets each and evey student to be involved in our session. He is one AMAZING EDUCATOR.

Interesting, but fun for students.

COSI provides materials for pre-teaching to prepare the children for the VC. They give them materials to use for interaction during the VC--which helps to keep them focused while they learn.

COSI Toledo has been one of the best sources of science presentations on grade level. Their presentations are very engaging and keep students active with experiments and activities. The interaction between presentor and students is very active and students are encouraged to participate. Of all the providers that I have used over the last 4 or 5 years, COSI Toledo and The Indianapolis Zoo have provided the best programing for elementary level curriculum.

I really enjoyed how interactive this program was for my students. The experiments helped them understand important concepts like gravity, Newton's Three Laws of Motion, and a few others. Many of the children felt the best part was the experiment where they made a film canister launch to the ceiling like a mini-rocket. They did this by mixing a little bit of water and an Alka-Selzer tablet inside of the film canister. Wow! That was so neat! Also, this program did a great job of explain how the experiments demonstrated concepts in science and how they related to the real world. We thought it was neat to learn about polymers, which were used in the space program for astrounants. Students were able to see what happened to a cup full of water when sodium polyacrilate was added to it. The water turned to a gel-like substance. This chemical was used to develop diapers for the astrounants. Now people use a similiar version for disposable diapers for babies. Overall, I would recommend this program to others. We learned a lot and had fun doing it.

My 3rd graders enjoyed Heart of the Matter...Trish did a great job. However, if she had actually been in front of my students, rather than on a large screen, they would have been more engaged. Talking to them afterwards they all agreed that it was a great field trip to take and unanimously said they would like to participate again. Heart of the Matter gave my students another way to hear, see and experience matter. The visit reinforced some of topics I had already taught and introduced others we had not gotten to yet.

This is a great program. It is about the fifth or sixth year I have had it.

Cosi Toleo is an amazing education program on Distance Learning -the staff and teachers in my district use Cosi Toledo a lot in our school year. Mr. Andy Campbell is a truly amazing educator. The amount of energy this educator has with our students is truly amazing -- my only wish is that there were two of him -- I have had to post-pone classes with him to accomodate his busy schedule -- this educator is very high in demand. I am truly appreciative everything he has done with my students and district -- he makes me look good at what i do -- and that is awesome!!!
