Cancellation Policy:
Client may schedule and cancel sessions up to 48 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled due to weather emergencies may be rescheduled. Sessions are designed for standard classroom periods of 40-60 minutes. InterLingo is not responsible for problems resulting from client equipment or Internet service provider. InterLingo Spanish : Culture Shock Series: Latin America


Description
Culture shock is defined as confusion and anxiety experienced by someone upon encountering a foreign environment. This program examines Latin American culture and how it can be new and exciting, as well as very different from the US and Canada. Appearances are sometimes deceiving.

We look at forces that define this group, including strong family ties, climate, greeting and gestures, concept of time, and personal space, and more.

This program contains simulations and anecdotes of everyday situations to demonstrate cultural differences first-hand to students. We show short video snips of real people in Latin America sharing their thoughts about national identity. Students can reflect upon their own surroundings and think about how people of other cultures might perceive them.

This program is available in Spanish with English translation as requested.

Upon enrolling we will send you an actives sheet with various activities you can do before and after the session.
