Description
Go behind-the-scenes at the MCA to explore the Conceptual Framework in this unique and exciting program. Follow an artwork’s journey from the artist’s studio to exhibition using multimedia content and hands-on experiences. Investigate various museum roles, from curatorial to art installation and discover the processes involved in bringing MCA exhibitions together.

24 August 2012, 10.00am-11.45am: Focus on Conservation with Melanie Forward, MCA Conservator

In this special edition, MCA Conservator Melanie Forward reveals the processes involved in maintaining and keeping artworks in the MCA Collection. Be sure to have questions for her ready!


Preparation
• Bookings are on a first in first served basis.
• To ensure maximum interactivity class size must not exceed 30 students without the prior agreement of the MCA. Other class sizes may be negotiated.
• The session will last for 45 minutes including question time.
• Pre-event material will be emailed to teachers with the invoice for the session. Digital Excursions are more rewarding if pre-event activities are completed, but they are not compulsory. Teachers are asked to familiarise themselves with the session outline, as they will play an active role during the session.
• The session, artwork, film and sound clips are protected by copyright and may not be recorded, reproduced or used in any way without the express written consent of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
